As an Art Industry Partner, Cityline collaborates with various arts groups to promote local arts and culture through diverse formats while providing professional ticketing experiences. This year marks the 70th anniversary of the Sin Fung Ming Opera Troupe, founded in 1956 when legendary figures of Hong Kong Cantonese opera—Yam Kim-fai (Y), Pak Suet-sin (P), and Tong Tik-sang (T)—began their shared pursuit of a dream. Paying tribute to the classic YPT trio, the renowned local arts group Utopia Cantonese Opera Workshop (Utopia) will present the "Dream Series" at the newly completed East Kowloon Cultural Centre from late November to late December. Five major stage programmes will be performed successively, alongside an immersive experience and cultural guided tours held in a century-old tong lau (tenement building) on Shanghai Street in Yau Ma Tei, recreating this household dream-chasing journey this winter. Tickets for these programmes are now publicly available on the Cityline ticketing platform.
From 23 November to 21 December 2026, at the newly inaugurated East Kowloon Cultural Centre Theatre—a hub for ArtsTech—Utopia will reconstruct the dream-chasing journey of the classic YPT IP through crossover dance, musical theatre concerts, as well as arts education programmes and activities. The "Dream Series" sets off from YPT's dream, extending into various artistic disciplines. By retracing their historic footsteps with contemporary creativity, the series seeks to uncover the code to their success, passing the authentic "Dream Series" onto the next generation.
The five major stage programmes include: Peony Pavilion · Mirror Awakening; HK Musical Dreams｜Theatre Concert; Peony Pavilion 70｜Elegant Youth Edition; ArenA, Original Canto-opera 15th Anniversary; and "Take Flight Together" Youth Showcase. These productions feature stellar performances from artists across different sectors, including Kimman Wong, Mimi Lo, Gary Tam, Mui Cheuk-yin, Leung Siu-ming, and others.
Century-Old Tong Lau Cultural Tour and Immersive Experience
Furthermore, the "Dream Series" specially creates the immersive experience “THE INTERVENTION: Dream On!” Heritage Theatre inside a pre-war, century-old tong lau on Shanghai Street. Audiences will follow the actors as they wander through different floors of the building, witnessing how tradition steps into the present amidst the space between "dreams and reality." For those interested in the pop and performance culture of Yau MaTei, they can first participate in the cultural guided tour Chasing Dreams Through Tenement Houses · Stories of Yau Ma Tei before enjoying the immersive experience.
Tickets for the series of spectacular classic IP performances and activities under the "Dream Series" are now available for public sale on the Cityline platform. Join us this November and December to immerse yourself in a journey of arts and culture.
